What Does 4H Stand For In Farming

The 4H stands for Head, Heart, Hands, and Health in farming. It is a global youth development organization which originated in the rural United States in the early 1900s. This organization focuses on teaching practical skills in agriculture, science, citizenship, and healthy living. Although started in the United States, 4H organization has expanded globally and now operates in more than 70 countries across six continents.

4-H helps train the next generation of farmers, agripreneurs, and scientists and promotes sustainable farming, food security, and environmental stewardship.



The 4-H Pledge

I pledge my head to clearer thinking, my heart to greater loyalty, my hands to larger service, and my health to better living, for my club, my community, my country and my world.

The 4-H Pledge is a promise that every 4-H member makes to live, learn, and lead.
