The word horticulture is derived from Latin words “hortus” and “colere.” Hortus means garden and Colore means to cultivate. However, in broad terms horticulture is the branch of agriculture science which deals with the study of raising fruit crops, vegetable crops, flowers, land scaping, and post harvest technology.
However, in horticulture we also study about growing plants in a garden and landscaping that’s why few people gets confused about the actual meaning of the word horticulture.
