Peach is cultivated in India for getting fresh as well as processed food & skin products such as sorbets, yogurts, peach oil and beer.
However India is not a major peach producing country in the world, but every year on 35,531 hectares area of land, 237,921 tonnes of peach is produced.
Arunachal Pradesh is the ninth largest peach producing state in India. From 2021-2022 around 240 tonnes of peach (0.22% of the total) was produced in Arunachal Pradesh.
Sikkim is the eighth largest peach producing state in India. From 2021-2022 around 340 tonnes of peach (0.31% of the total) was produced in Sikkim.
Tamil Nadu is the seventh largest peach producing state in India. From 2021-2022 around 360 tonnes of peach (0.33% of the total) was produced in Tamil Nadu.
Nagaland is the sixth largest peach producing state in India. From 2021-2022 around 1,790 tonnes of peach (1.66% of the total) was produced in Nagaland.
Haryana is the fifth largest peach producing state in India. From 2021-2022 around 5,870 tonnes of peach (5.43% of the total) was produced in Haryana.
Himachal Pradesh is the fourth largest peach producing state in India. From 2021-2022 around 7,110 tonnes of peach (6.57% of the total) was produced in Himachal Pradesh.
Jammu & Kashmir is the third largest peach producing union territory in India. From 2021-2022 around 7,350 tonnes of peach (6.80% of the total) was produced in Jammu & Kashmir.
Punjab is the second largest peach producing state in India. From 2021-2022 around 32,230 tonnes of peach (29.80% of the total) was produced in Punjab.
Uttarkhand is the largest peach producing state in India. From 2021-2022 around 52,860 tonnes of peach (48.88% of the total) was produced in Uttarakhand.
