Okra plant can grow well in warm tropical to sub-tropical climate. Avoid growing them in freezing climate. USDA zones 9, 10 and 11 are good for planting okra.
Well draining sandy loam soil rich in organic matter is good for growing okra. Prepare potting mix with 60% loamy soil + 25% organic compose + 10% coco peat + 5% sand.
From February to March you can sow seeds at 0.5 inches deep after soaking seeds in water ovrnight. Seeds will germinate after 5 to 10 of sowing.
Bright direct sunlight for at least 6 to 8 hours daily is necessary for good growth of the plant. Avoid growing them in low light conditions.
Keep the soil moist but avoid waterlogging. Apply water whenever top layer of soil seems dry. Make sure to have drainage holes at the bottom.
Once after every 15 days add 1/4 teaspoon NPK(10:10:10) . Or use handful of vermicompost along with onion peel fertilizer once after every 30 days.
