Aparajita also known as Asian pigeonwings, bluebellvine, blue pea, butterfly pea, etc. is considered a holy herbaceous flowering plant in India.
Aparajita or Asian Pigeonwings love to grow well in warm tropical climate. Aparajita flower blooms from July to November.
Well draining soil rich in organic matter is good. Prepare potting mix with 40% soil + 20% cocopeat + 40% dung manure.
You can start sowing seeds from March to April. Broadcast seeds on soil and cover with thin layer of potting mix, apply water, seeds will germinate within 8 to 12 days.
For good flowering and plant growth keep aparajita plant under bright direct sunlight for 6 to 8 hours daily. Avoid keeping in low light condition.
Asian Pigeonwings love moist soil to grow. Hence avoid dry spells for longer duration. Water whenever top layer of soil becomes dry.
You can use a hanful of vermicompost or dung manure every month. During flowering also add onion or banana peel fertilizer to enhance flowering.
