During the presentation of the Union Budget 2023-24, Indian Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that government would set up an agriculture accelerator fund.
Funds will be allocated for promoting innovation and cost-effective solutions to problems faced by farmers in rural India.
The Government is going to build open-source digital infrastructure to improve crop planning, access to farm inputs, and other possibilities in the agriculture sector.
This step by India's government will help boost the country's rural agroecosystem. It will open a gate of opportunities for farmers.
The gap between farmers and start-ups will reduce and bring positive change in the country's overall growth. Farmers will become aware of new schemes & technologies.
Through the agriculture accelerator fund, the government plan to make India a global hub of millet. Hence farmers involved in millet production will receive good support.
The efficient storage facility is a big issue for farmers in India. The government is going to build massive decentralized storage capacity to reduce post-harvest losses.
Hence, if this is carried out perfectly on the ground, then there will be a massive change in the agriculture ecosystem of India that will benefit farmers and start-ups.
