Pothos is one of the most common houseplants that also has air purifying qualitues & is easy to grow. But some people face problem is growing & here is why...
Pothos prefer to grow well in bright indirect people. That's why keeping them under direct sunlight can burn their leaves & kill this plant.
Overwatering as well as underwatering can affect the growth of pothos. Keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Do not let the soil dry out completely.
Always select pots with drainage holes at the bottom of the pot. Although pothos can be grown directly in water but when grown in soil it requires proper drainage.
However, pothos are not heavy feeders, still to promote healthy foliage growth you need to add nitrogen rich organic fertilizers such as leaf compost once in a month.
Temperature also plays a crucial role in the growth of a plant. Temperature ranging between (18°C to 29°C is ideal for the growth of pothos.
It appreciate moderate to high humidity levels. If the air is too dry, it can affect their growth and cause browning of the leaf edges. Mist plant with water in hot summer days.
Pothos plants can outgrow their containers and become root-bound. Hence repot into a larger pot when you notic roots coming out from the bottom portion of the pot.
