Which Potting Soil Is Good For Growing Roses

Introduction

To ensure that your roses thrive and bloom to their fullest potential, it is essential to choose the right potting mix or soil. You can use any one among these to grow roses. 

Sand & Cinder

One of the best potting mix for growing roses is composed of 50% river sand + 50% cinder. However, it requires frequent watering for best results. 

Sand & Dung Manure

You can grow roses in potting mix prepared by mixing 40% garden soil + 60% dung manure. You only need to water when top layer of this medium seems dry. 

Cinder Media

You can directly grow roses in cinder media. It is best for getting intense flowering. However, you need to be careful about watering when growing rose in cinder media. 

Cocopeat Media

You can directly grow roses in cocopeat media. You do not need to add any compost. Plant roses directly in cocopeat media. You can apply 1 tablespoon fungicide. 

Super Mixture

Mix 40% garden soil + 20% river sand + 40% well rotten organic manure such as vermicompost + 1 tablespoon bonemeal + 1 tablespoon fungicide.

All these potting mix or soil are found to be effective in growing rose plant. You can select any one among them based on material availability & experience.
