In the world, there are around 150 species of rose & thousands of hybrids. Because of its beauty & fragrance, the rose is known as the King and Queen of flowers.
Just like humans need food for growth & survival, rose plants need essential nutrients for development of roots, shoots and flower bud production.
It is one of the most important point for fertilizing rose plant. You can start feeding 15 days after pruning of rose plant to promote groeth of new shoots & flower buds.
If you are comfortable in using inorganic fertilizers, then use NPK (20:20:20) 2 grams in 1 litres of water and micronutrients 1 grams in 1 litres of water, once in a month.
If you are comfortable in using organic fertilizers, then use 3 to 4 handful of vermicompost and onion or banana peel fertilizer once after every 14 days.
Mix 1 Kg Bone-meal, 1 Kg Neem cake fertilizer, 250 grams of DAP, Potash, Super phosphate, Zinc sulphate, Magnesium Sulphide, NPK, Mustard Cake Dust, and 100 grams of Plaster of Paris.
You can store this prepared super rose fertilizer in a plastic container. After every 14 days, apply one table spoon of this rose fertilizer mix. It will promote heavy flowering in the plant.
In cold climatic conditions, you can also use mustard cake fertilizer after fermenting it in water for at least 48 hours for feeding rose plant. They also help in boosting plant's growth.
