China is the largest producer of watermelon in the world. Anny around 79,244,271 tonnes of watermelons are produced in China.
After China; Turkey, Iran, Brazil, Uzbekistan, Algeria, United States, Russia, Egypt, Mexico, etc. are the major watermelon producing countries.
With yearly production of around 427,105 tonnes of watermelons, India ranks 25th in the global production of watermelons.
Uttar Pradesh is the largest watermelon producing state of India. Annual production was around 706,650 tonnes (21.91%) in 2021.
Andhra Pradesh is the second largest watermelon producing state of India. Annual production was around 628.570 tonnes (19.49%) in 2021.
Tamil Nadu is the third largest watermelon producing state of India. Annual production was around 315,190 tonnes (9.77%) in 2021.
Karnataka is the fourth largest watermelon producing state of India. Annual production was around 260,900 tonnes (8.09%) in 2021.
Orissa is the fifth largest watermelon producing state of India. Annual production was around 253.540 tonnes (7.86%) in 2021.
