Pulses such as Tur, Urad, Chana, Mung, Masoor, etc. are widely cultivated in various parts of India. There are an important food crop due to high protein content.
India is the largest producer of pulses in the world. From 2022 to 2023 around 775,024.48 MT of pulses have been exported from India.
Rajasthan is the largest producer of pulses in India. From 2019 to 2020 around 4,497,130 tonnes of pulses have been produced in Rajasthan.
Madhya Pradesh is the second largest producer of pulses in India. From 2019 to 2020 around 4,108,410 tonnes of pulses have been produced in Madhya Pradesh.
Maharashtra is the third largest producer of pulses in India. From 2019 to 2020 around 3,736,000 tonnes of pulses have been produced in Maharashtra.
Uttar Pradesh is the fourth largest producer of pulses in India. From 2019 to 2020 around 2,447,320 tonnes of pulses have been produced in Uttar Pradesh.
Karnataka is the fifth largest producer of pulses in India. From 2019 to 2020 around 2,155,890 tonnes of pulses have been produced in Karnataka.
