India is the largest producer of mango in the world. It accounts for around 50% of the total world's mango production.
Every year around 18,779,000 tonnes of mangoes are produced in India. It is produced in an area of 1.23 million hectares. About 1500 varieties of mango are grown in the country.
Uttar Pradesh is the largest mango producing state in India. The annual production is around 4,807,830 tonnes and percentage share is around 23.64%
Andhra Pradesh is the second largest mango producing state in India. The annual production is around 4,676,060 tonnes and percentage share is around 22.99%
Karnataka is the third largest mango producing state in India. The annual production is around 1,745,570 tonnes & percentage share is around 8.58%
Bihar is the fourth largest mango producing state in India. The annual production is around 1,549,970 tonnes & percentage share is around 7.62%
Telangana is the fifth largest mango producing state in India. The annual production is around 1,157,730 tonnes & percentage share is around 5.69%
Gujarat is the sixth largest mango producing state in India. The annual production is around 997,830 tonnes & percentage share is around 4.91%
West Bengal is the seventh largest mango producing state in India. The annual production is around 889,690 tonnes & percentage share is around 4.38%
Orissa is the eighth largest mango producing state in India. The annual production is around 847,810 tonnes & percentage share is around 4.17%
Tamil Nadu is the ninth largest mango producing state in India. The annual production is around 639,640 tonnes & percentage share is around 3.15%
Madhya Pradesh is the tenth largest mango producing state in India. The annual production is around 526,230 tonnes & percentage share is around 2.59%
