In the world, China is the largest producer of grapes with total production of 14,842,680 tonnes in a year. 

India

India is the 7th largest producer of grapes in the world. The total production of grapes in the country was about 2,590,000 tonnes.

Maharashtra

Maharashtra is the largest grape producing state in India with around 75.3% of the total production. Nashik is known as the Wine capital of India as it has the largest vineyards.

Karnataka

Karnataka is the second largest grape producing state of India with 14.32% of the total grape production.  Grapes are mainly cultivated in Vijayapura, Nelamangala, etc.

Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu is the 3rd largest grape producing state of the country. Popular grape varieties grown in the state are Thompson Seedless, Gulabi & Bangalore Blue.

Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh is the 4th largest grape producing state of the country with 4.84% of the total production. 

Punjab

Punjab is the fifth largest grape prodcing state of India which accounts for 1.18% of the total production. 

Grape Varieties

Thomson seedless, Anab-e-Shahi, Dilkhush, Sharad Seedless & Perlette are the most cultivated grape variety produced in the country.
