India is the home to most of the spices cultivated and consumed in the world. It is also the largest cumin-producing country in the world.
India contributes about 70% of the total cumin production in the world. From 2021 to 2022 around 725,420 tonnes of cumin was produced in India.
Uttar Pradesh is the seventh largest cumin producing state in India with production of 10 tonnes of cumin from 2021 to 2022.
Himachal Pradesh is the sixth largest cumin producing state in India with production of 30 tonnes of cumin from 2021 to 2022.
Karnataka is the fifth largest cumin producing state in India with production of 40 tonnes of cumin (Contribution: o.01%) from 2021 to 2022.
Madhya Pradesh is the fourth largest cumin producing state in India with production of 330 tonnes of cumin (Contribution: o.05%) from 2021 to 2022.
West Bengal is the third largest cumin producing state in India with production of 1,510 tonnes of cumin (Contribution: o.21%) from 2021 to 2022.
Rajasthan is the second largest cumin producing state in India with production of 303,500 tonnes of cumin (Contribution: 41.84%) from 2021 to 2022.
Gujarat is the largest cumin producing state in India with production of 420,000 tonnes of cumin (Contribution: 57.90%) from 2021 to 2022.
