India is the second largest vegetable producing country in the world. Around 204.84 million metric tonnes of vegetables were produced in India from 2021-2022.
Chattisgarh is the 10th largest vegetable producing state in India. It contributes around 3.45% of the total production. Major vegetable crops are Eggplant, Cucurbits, Beans, etc.
Karnataka is the 9th largest vegetable producing state in India. It contributes around 4.05% of the total production. Major vegetable crops are Tomato, Cucumber, Chilli, etc.
Tamil Nadu is the 8th largest vegetable producing state in India. It contributes around 4.54% of the total production. Major vegetable crops are Tapioca, Onion, Tomato, etc.
Odisha is the 7th largest vegetable producing state in India. It contributes around 4.76% of the total production. Major vegetable crops are Tomato, Cabbage, Cauliflower, etc.
Gujarat is the 6th largest vegetable producing state in India. It contributes around 7.85% of the total production. Major vegetable crops are Okra, Beans, Cucurbits, etc.
Maharashtra is the 5th largest vegetable producing state in India. It contributes around 8.40% of the total production. Major vegetable crops are Onion, Eggplant, Chilli, etc.
Bihar is the 4th largest vegetable producing state in India. It contributes around 8.89% of the total production. Major vegetable crops are potato, onion, eggplant, etc.
Madhya Pradesh is the 3rd largest vegetable producing state in India. It contributes around 10.30% of the total production which is around 21,140,920 tonnes.
West Bengal is the 2nd largest vegetable producing state in India. It contributes around 14.12% of the total production which is around 28,941,808 tonnes.
Uttar Pradesh is the largest vegetable producing state in India. It contributes around 14.18% of the total production which is around 29,007,151 tonnes.
