India is the largest producer of cotton in the world. Around 5,900,000 tonnes of cotton was produced in India from 2022-2023. Here are top cotton producing states in India.
Orissa is the tenth-largest cotton-producing state in India. It contributes around 1.61% of the total production which is around 6.82 lakhs bales of cotton.
Punjab is the ninth-largest cotton-producing state in India. It contributes around 3.34% of the total production which is around 9.22 lakhs bales of cotton.
Madhya Pradesh is the eighth-largest cotton-producing state in India. It contributes around 4.56% of the total production which is around 15.19 lakhs bales of cotton.
Haryana is the seventh-largest cotton-producing state in India. It contributes around 6.46% of the total production which is around 17.21 lakhs bales of cotton.
Andhra Pradesh is the sixth-largest cotton-producing state in India. It contributes around 6.89% of the total production which is around 17.85 lakhs bales of cotton.
Karnataka is the fifth-largest cotton-producing state in India. It contributes around 6.95% of the total production which is around 21.04 lakhs bales of cotton.
Rajasthan is the fourth-largest cotton-producing state in India. It contributes around 7.73% of the total production which is around 27.12 lakhs bales of cotton.
Telangana is the third-largest cotton-producing state in India. It contributes around 18.41% of the total production which is around 53.25 lakhs bales of cotton.
Maharshtra is the second-largest cotton-producing state in India. It contributes around 18.95% of the total production which is around 80.25 lakhs bales of cotton.
Gujarat is the largest cotton-producing state in India. It contributes around 23.89% of the total production which is around 91.83 lakhs bales of cotton.
