Also known as common houseleek is apecies of succulent flowering plants which are native to Southern Europe. In Rome & Europe people used to grow to get protection against lightining.
They grow well in hot tropical climate but can also withstand frost. Temperature range of 15 to 30 degrees Celsius is good.
Houseleek can grow well in well draining sandy loam soil or you can use succulent potting mix for growing this plant.
Bright indirect sunlight for at least 6 hours daily is required to take care of Sempervivum tectorum succulent plant.
Avoid overwatering or waterlogging. Let the soil dry for sometime before watering, only water when top layer of soil becomes dry completely.
They are not heavy feeders but you can use one handful of dung manure or leaf compost once after every 60 to 90 days.
You can easily propagate hens & chicks plant through offsets that grows alongside and planting them in a new pot.
