Wine is made from fermented grapes which involves 5 steps that are harvesting, crushing, pressing, fermentation, clarification, aging and bottling
Top wine producing countries are Italy, France, Spain, United States of America, Argentina, etc. In which Italy is the largest producer of wine since 2014.
The total production of wine in 2022 in Italy was about 49.8 million hectoliters. Marchesi Antinori & Benanti are well known wine producing companies based in Italy.
France is the second largest wine producing country in the world. In 2022, the total production of wine in the country was 45.6 million hectoliters.
Spain is the third largest producer of wine with total production of about 35.7 million hectoliters. García Carrión & Freixenet Group are the largest wine producing company of Spain.
Italy is not only the largest producer but it is also the largest exporter of wine to the world. In 2022, it exported around 21.9 million hectoliters of wine.
However, apart from being the fourth largest wine producer, United States of America is the largest wine importer of the world, in 2022, it imported around 14.4 million hectoliters.
