Lantana is an alluring flowering plant which is native to American tropics but it has became invasive weed in Asian countries.
You can grow lantana in America & Europe without any problem but in Asian countries, Australia, etc. avoid growing lantana as it can affect local biodiversity.
Lantana grows well in hot tropical climate but can adapt to grow in wide range of climatic conditions.
Well drained soil with neutral pH is ideal. Prepare potting mix with 50% garden soil + 30% dung manure + 20% river snad.
Propagate Lantana from hardwood cuttings in the fall for getting flowers in the spring season.
Lantana grows well under bright direct sunlight for at least 6 to 8 hours everyday. Avoid keeping in low light condition.
Too much watering can affect the growth of lantana plant, hence water only when top layer of soil becomes dry.
Adding excess fertilizers can reduce flowering in lantana. Add only a handful of dung manure or leaf compost every month.
