Indian Farmers Can Cultivate These Wheat Varieties For Higher Yield

Introduction

If you are an Indian farmer looking for high-yielding & disease-resistant wheat varieties, then you should cultivate these newly released wheat varieties by the ICAR. 

Pusa Kiran (HS 542)

Pusa Kiran is a semi-dwarf wheat variety that can yield up to 6.03 tonnes per hectare and is resistant to stripe and leaf rust. You can sow them in North Eastern hills. 

Nilgiri Khapli (HW 1098)

Nilgiri Khapli is suitable for Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh & Maharashtra. It is resistant to stem, leaf and yellow rust and can yield up to 4.78 tonnes per hectare. 

HDCSW 18

The generic yield potential of this wheat variety is more than 7 tonnes per hectare. It is resistant to brown rust, high temperature & is suitable for Delhi NCR. 

HD 3117

Another high yielding wheat variety for farmers of the Delhi region is HD3117. It can yield up to 5.5 tonnes per hectare and is resistant to brown and yellow rust. 

Pusa Malvi (HD 4728)

It is a semi-dwarf wheat variety that takes 120 days to reach harvesting maturity and can yield up to 6.8 tonnes per hectare. It is suitable for Chattisgarh & Madhya Pradesh. 

HS 562

Under irrigated conditions, HS 562 wheat variety can yield up to 6.2 tonnes per hectare and is resistant to leaf and stripe rust. It can be sown in northern hilly regions.
