Nerium oleander, also known as Kaneri is a beautiful flowering shrub which is popular for vibrant blooms & glossy green leaves. Follow these tips to grow them.
They love to grow well in bright direct sunlight. choose a spot in your garden that receives plenty of sunlight. The shrub can also tolerate some shade.
Prefer to grow Oleander in well drained soil rich in organic matter. Prepare potting mix with 40% soil + 20% river sand + 40% compost.
Oleander is drought-tolerant, but it still needs regular watering to thrive. Water your oleander deeply when top layer of soil dries completely.
They are heavy feeders. Fertilize plant with two handful of dung manure + onion peel fertilizer once after every 15 days to promote good growth & flowering.
Oleander can grow quite tall, so it's important to prune it regularly to keep it under control. Prune your oleander in the late winter or early spring.
They can be susceptible to a few different pests and diseases, including scale, spider mites, and leaf spot. Keep spraying insecticidal soap solution once in every month.
