Hoya kerrii also known as sweetheart or valentine hoya plant is a popular indoor plant because it is considered perfect Valentine gift for couples.
They can grow easily in tropical warm, & humid climate. Temperature range of 15 to 30 degrees Celsius is ideal for growing sweetheart plant.
Any well draining soil is good for this plant. You can prepare potting mix with 50% garden soil + 20% river sand + 20% organic compost + 10% perlite.
Bright indirect throughout the day for at least 6 hours is ideal fro growing sweet heart plant.
Let the soil dry for sometime before watering. Avoid waterlogging in the pot and water only when soil becomes completely dry.
From spring to fall, you can feed with two tablespoon tea leaf compost + onion peel fertilizer once after every 30 days.
You can propagate sweet heart plant from stem cuttings. however they take nearly a month to produce new roots.
If you follow all these tips then there is a high chance that you can see your sweetheart plant blooming between March to July.
