Nasturtium is a genus of around 80 flowering plant species that are annual and perennial. Flower colour varies from red, orange, pink, yellow, to white.
In places where average temperature ranges between 16 to 30 degrees Celsius, you can grow Nasturtium flowering plants.
Well draining, poorly fertile soil is good for growing Nasturtium. Prepare potting mix with 50% soil + 30% cocopeat + 10% river sand + 10% compost.
They love to grow well under direct sunlight for at least 6 to 8 hours daily. Avoid growing them in low light condition.
Keep the soil evenly moist but avoid over watering. They can tolerate draught for sometime but water frequently for good growth & flowering.
Do not add chemical fertilizers in this plant. During flowering phase you can apply one teaspoon onion peel fertilizer after every 15 days.
You can propagate Nasturtiums by sowing their seeds 1/2 inches deep. You can start sowing seeds in early spring season.
