Calibrachoa, also known as Million Bells, is an perennial summer flowering plant that blooms from late spring to end of summer. Missing petunias, then grow this plant in hanging baskets.
They can grow in wide range of climatic conditions. Temperature ranging from 16 to 24 degrees Celsius is good for this plant.
Well draining soil rich in organic matter is ideal for million bells flowering plant. Prepare potting mix with 40% soil + 30% compost + 20% cocopeat + 10% river sand.
It is a sun-loving plant that requires at least six hours of sunlight each day to thrive. Avoid growing million bells in low light conditions.
Calibrachoa prefers to grow in moist but not waterlogged soil. Water the plant when the top 1 inch layer of soil feels dry to the touch.
It is a heavy feeder and requires regular fertilization to produce an abundance of flowers. Apply one handful of vermicompost + 1 tablespoon onion peel fertilizer after every 14 days.
Deadheading, or removing spent flowers, will encourage the plant to produce more blooms. Use clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears to remove the flowers.
