How To Grow & Care For Aeonium Succulents

Introduction

Aeonium is a genus of over 35 species of succulent plants that are famous for glossy, waxy leaves arranged in rosettes.

Climate

Aeonium prefer to grow well in sub-tropical or Mediterranean climate which is not too hot, cold or dry. 

Soil & Potting

You can use well draining loamy soil is good for growing aeoniums. They also grow well in succulent or cactus potting mix. 

Propagation

You can propagate aeonium by taking stem, leaf cuttings or offsets in early spring season. 

Sunlight

Keep aeonium under bright direct to indirect sunlight throughout the day. However protect them from very hot harsh sunlight.

Watering

Overwatering is not good. Also avoid waterlogging in the pot. Let the soil dry for sometime before watering. 

Fertilizers

You can use one handful of neem cake fertilizer or leaf compost once after every 90 days during active growing season only.

popular types of aeonium are Aeonium aizoon, Aeonium arboreum, Aeonium haworthii, Aeonium sunburst, etc.
