Narcissus or Daffodil is a genus of perennial bulb forming flowering plants. It is also the national flower of Wales that you can grow by following these tips.
Popular daffodils types are Bunch-flowered daffodil, Petticoat daffodil, Angel's-tears, Primerose peerless, Jonquil, New baby, Yellow trumpet, etc.
Daffodils can grow well in temperate and Mediterranean climate. There are even cold hardy and can withstand temperature below 0 degree Celsius.
You can start planting or propagating daffodil bulbs during September to November to enjoy flowering during spring season.
Well draining, loose fertile loamy soil is good for them. You can prepare potting mix with 40% soil + 10% river sand + 20% cocopeat + 30% compost + 1 teaspoon bonemeal.
To get good bloom, plant daffodils under bright direct sunlight for at least 8 hours everyday. Avoid keeping in low light condition.
Water immediately after planting daffodils, keep the soil evenly moist and avoid dry spells for longer duration but avoid waterlogging too.
Fertilize with one handful of vermicompost or dung manure + 1 teaspoon bonemeal once after every 30 days, Water immediately after fertilizing.
