Shift in human societies from a nomadic, hunter-gatherer lifestyle to settled communities that practiced agriculture led to the development of many useful crafts.
Around 33,000 to 43,000 years ago, humans started developing ivory beads, flutes made from bones, etc., however the development of crafts increased during the Neolithic period.
During the Neolithic Period, humans invented crafts such as pottery, textiles & weaving tools, plows, sickles, jewelry, basketry, etc.
Rise in the invention of new crafts during the "Neolithic Period" which is also regarded as the period of the first agricultural revolution took place due to these reasons.
Due to food surplus during the Neolithic period human population started growing and specializing in a role within the society.

Production of resources such as such as grains, fibers, and animal products provided the fibers needed for weaving textiles and the clay necessary for creating pottery.
Because of the food surplus, humans started spending less time in search of food and started engaging in other activities, including crafts.
The need for efficient agricultural tools and infrastructure led to technological innovation. Humans started inventing tools such as sickles, axes, spades, etc.
