Chinese money plant also known as Pilea peperomioides, UFO plant, Missionary plant, etc. is a popular houseplant that can survive even in low light & have air purifying quality.
Chinese money plant looks wonderful in hanging pots of 8 to 10 inches size, but you can also grow them in other decorative pots of same size.
USDA Zones 9, 10, & 11 or tropical to sub-tropical climate is ideal for Chinese money plant.
Well drained soil that is rich in organic matter. Prepare potting mix with 40% garden soil + 20% river sand + 10% cocopeat + 30% organic compost.
You can propagate Chinese money plant through offset that grows at the base of the plant. Take them out with newly developed roots and plant them.
Medium to bright indirect sunlight for 6 to 8 hours daily is good, but they can also survive in low light condition.
Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Apply water only when top layer of soil seems dry, avoid waterlogging in pot.
Once after every 30 days fertilize with tea leaf compost and 1 tea spoon bone-meal. Avoid fertilizing during winters.
