Also known as the Experimental Farm, is an agricultural research facility established in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, in 1886 by the Canadian government.
Initially it sarted with 5 sites but now it has 19 sites and includes multiple locations, sub stations and field sites in various parts of Canada to understand agrarian experiments.
It provide platform for the development of new agricultural techniques and the testing of new crop varieties & has played a critical role in the development of Canada's agricultural industry.
The Experimental farm covers 1,000 acres of land and is operated by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. It is one of the largest and oldest experimental farms in Canada.
You can learn plant breeding, crop nutrition, soil science, and agro-ecology at the experimental farm. It is also an important site for conservation and preservation of Canada's plant biodiversity.
It is also a popular destination for visitors. The farm is home to several gardens, including the Ornamental Gardens and the Dominion Arboretum, which showcase a diverse range of plant species.
It does not require an entrance fee or ticket price for visitors to access its grounds. But, some of the farm's attractions, such as the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, may have entry fees.
