Rose is a cool-season flowering plant that flowers during the winter season and is popular for its flower shape and divine fragrance.
Due to their beauty, nearly every plant lover wishes to grow them in his or her garden. But finding the right soil for growing roses is still a mystery.
We tried growing rose plant in a wide range of soils and found out these best soil mixes for growing roses to get intensive growth and flowering.
Well, most of the rose plants can grow well in well-draining, nutrient-rich loamy soils, but a few varieties of rose plants can even grow in moist soil.
Rose varieties such as Rugosa roses, Swamp roses, Rosa glauca, and Rosa 'New Dawn' can grow in a wide range of soils, including moist soils.
But not every rose variety can be grown in soggy soil, as they are prone to fungal diseases such as black spot, powdry mildew, rust, botrytis, etc.
With our experience growing roses, we have found that loamy soils or potting mixes prepared with an equal mix of cinder and sand work great.
Apart from watering and soil moisture, other important factors such as sunlight, pruning, fertilizing, etc. also play a very crucial role in growing rose plants.
