Those who love having houseplants in their garden are also worried about selecting best fertilizers to improve growth of indoor plants. Let's know about them one by one.
Well decomposed tea leaf composed are great source of nitrogen for foliage houseplants. They contain 4% nitrogen & you can add them after every 30 days.
Leaf compost contains 2% nitrogen, 0.5% phosphorus, & about 2% potassium. You can apply one handful of leaf compost once after every 30 days.
Apart from adding nutrients to the soil vermicomost also acts as bio-fertilizers, improves soil aeration, and soil structure.
Used coffee grounds are rich source of nitrogen that you can apply as a top dressing after every 15 days.
Crushed eggshells are rich source of calcium that is essential for plants. They are slow releasing fertilizer so you can add them twice in a year.
Ripe banana peels are good source of potassium and you can add them in flowering indoor plants such as Chrysanthemums, Calla lily, Peace lily, etc.
Just like banana peel, onion peels are also great for increasing flowering in houseplants such as Kalanchoe, Hydrangea, Anthurium, etc.
