The U.S. President understands due to the war in Iran, blockade of the strait of Hormuz, and ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, fuel prices have risen sharply, costing common U.S. citizens; hence, the announcement arrived to relieve American citizens from high \u200bfuel prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is important to mention that Trump&#8217;s approval rating in the U.S. has gone down to around 36%, with 61% disapproving, according to the The New York Times Approval Poll Tracker. Hence, this is seen by many as a strategic move to maintain support in key battleground farm states and gain the confidence of the voters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How and Who Will Distribute the Aid: <\/strong>The $8 billion program will be administered by the USDA\u2019s Farm Service Agency and authorized under the Commodity Credit Corporation Charter Act. This will be a &#8220;one-time payment&#8221;. The USDA will use a uniform formula based on reported planted acres and production cost estimates to cover a portion of farmers&#8217; modeled losses for the 2026 crop year.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can Trump $8 Billion Agricultural Aid Provide Immediate Relief To The Farmers?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Diesel prices have surged to record levels, hitting around $6.53 a gallon, and as the funds will only be disbursed after the November 3 election, it offers no immediate cash in hand for the current harvest season. Farmers in the U.S. will have to pay for the historically high-priced diesel and fertilizer upfront for the current harvesting season.
