China, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Nepal are the major litchi producing countries. Fairly deep, loamy soil with proper drainage is considered best for its cultivation. Soil pH should range between<strong> 5.5 to 7 pH<\/strong> is considered good for litchi cultivation. Waterlogging should be avoided in the field.<br><br><br><br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Climate_Temperature\"><\/span><strong>\u091c\u0932\u0935\u093e\u092f\u0941 \u0914\u0930 \u0924\u093e\u092a\u092e\u093e\u0928<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Lychee crop grows well in moist climate in subtropical areas. Humidity affects the fruit size and other properties of litchi fruit. This crop is prone to both excessively high and low temperature. It cannot withstand frost. For the growth of the tree, temperature ranging around <strong>30 degrees Celcius<\/strong> is considered good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the stage of flowering and fruit development, the temperature should be around <strong>21 degrees Celcius<\/strong>. Wet spring, dry summer, and light winter is good for this tree.<br><br><br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Propagation_of_Lychee\"><\/span><strong>Propagation of Lychee<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This plant could be propagated through seeds, but it takes seven to eight years to bear fruits on a <strong>litchi<\/strong> tree propagated by seeds. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vegetative_reproduction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>Vegetative propagation<\/strong><\/a> in litchi could be done by <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Layering#Air_layering\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>air layering<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong> approach grafting, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Shield_budding\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">shield budding<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Air layering is the best method of propagation in litchi. It&#8217;s quite easy to be practiced and is done on a one-year-old shoot of the plant. For rooting in air layering application of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Indole-3-butyric_acid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>IBA<\/strong><\/a> @ 200 ppm is found effective.<br><br><br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Field_Preparation\"><\/span><strong>\u0916\u0947\u0924 \u0915\u0940 \u0924\u0948\u092f\u093e\u0930\u0940<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Square planting system is adopted for lychee <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Orchard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">orchard<\/a>. Pits are constructed of (1 * 1 * 1) m.\u00a0Spacing of 10 * 10 m is considered normal, spacing less than this requires tree protection against frost and wind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Application of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/FYM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">FYM<\/a>( Farm Yard Manure) @ 20 to 25 Kg mixed with sulfate or potash 400 gm is recommended before planting. Ring basin method should be adopted in the orchard for better results and efficient use of water. Place the rooted lychee saplings in the soil and cover it. Irrigate immediately after planting to provide moisture to the root zone.<br><br><br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Training_Pruning\"><\/span><strong>\u091f\u094d\u0930\u0947\u0928\u093f\u0902\u0917 \u0914\u0930 \u092a\u094d\u0930\u0942\u0928\u093f\u0902\u0917<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pruning\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Training<\/strong> <\/a>\u0914\u0930<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pruning\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"> <strong>pruning<\/strong> <\/a>not only gives shape to the tree but also helps to remove the unnecessary branches from the tree. It also helps to maintain the sanitization of the lychee tree. They provide a better framework for the tree to give higher yields. Pruning is responsible for increasing yield and quality of fruits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Girdling\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Girdling<\/a><\/strong> could also be done in September to enhance flowering and fruiting.<br><br><br><br><br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Irrigation\"><\/span><strong>\u0938\u093f\u0902\u091a\u093e\u0908<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At the fruit development stage requirement of water is very critical. Irrigation should be given at this stage to get higher yields.&nbsp;Mulching should be done in the basin with the help of dry leaves. It helps to maintain moisture around the lychee tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Water could be applied regularly at an interval of 7 to 10 days after panicle emergence to fruit harvest or until the post-harvest flush appears. It takes 50 to 60 days to mature completely.
