An evergreen conifer such as pine, fir, or spruce are grown as Christmas tree for decoration during Christmas festival.
You can grow "Chamaecyparis thyoides Top Point" which is a small form of conifer inside your home for decoration.
Cold temperate climate is ideal for growing Christams tree. You should avoid growing them in hot tropical climate.
Well drained, oamy soil with slightly acidic pH is good. Prepare potting mix with 40% garden soil + 30% river sand + 30% organic compost.
Direct to bright indirect sunlight is good for Christmas tree. But avoid keeping them under hot and harsh sunlight.
Keep the soil evenly moist but avoid waterlogging as it can damage your Christmas plant. Water only when top layer of soil becomes dry.
Christmas trees are not heavy feeders. From spring to fall add one to two handful of organic manure once after every 30 days.
They are slow growing plants, hence once after every 2 to 3 years when roots start coming out from the bottom of the pot you can transplant them to a larger pot.
