Snapdragons are perennial flowering plants that are popular because its flower look similar to the face of dragon. You can grow this plant by following these tips.
Snapdragons can grow well in USDA zones in 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 or in tropical as well as temperate climate.
They love moist well drained soil. Prepare potting mix with 40% garden soil + 20% cocopeat + 30% compost + 10% perlite.
You can propagate snapdragon or antirrhinum from cuttings, root division and seeds. during September to October.
Snapdragons grow well in direct to indirect sunlight for at least 6 hours daily. Avoid keeping them in low light.
Avoid overhead watering, keep the soil evenly moist for better results but avoid waterlogging in the pot, that's make sure to have drainage holes at the bottom.
From spring to summer, fertilize with one teaspoon NPK(10:10:10) weekly or use two handful of leaf compost and banana peel fertilizer weekly.
Snapdragon starts blooming from early spring to summer season. However, it can also keep blooming till fall.
