Monstera is a popular evergreen, slow growing tropical houseplant that has air purifying qualities. Hence keeping them in home is a blessing.
Well-drained soil rich in organic matter is good for monstera. Prepare potting mix with 50% garden soil + 30% cocopeat + 20% organic compost.
Take cuttings just after a leaf node and put them in a jar filled with water.. Keep in indirect sunlight and within 10 days roots will start developing.
Keep your monstera plant in a place where it an receive at least 6 hours of indirect sunlight daily. Avoid keeping them in low light condition.
Keep the soil evenly moist but avoid waterlogging. Apply water when top layer of soil becomes dry, keep misting on hot dry days.
Once after every 30 days add handful of organic manure like leaf compost or neem cake fertilizer to promote good growth in monstera.
Keep pruning old and diseased leaves time to time to promote healthy growth in monstera plant.
Apart from its benefits, monstera is moderately toxic. Therefore keep this plant out of reach from kids and pets.
