Whether you cultivate lavender on large or small farm, you will be surprised to know that you can earn few hundred dollars from few dozens of lavender.
Well drained, light, calcareous soil of pH range around 7.0 to 8.3 is considered ideal for lavender farming.
Places that have mild climate are ideal for lavender. 15 to 30 degrees Celsius is the ideal temperature range.
Prepare field by doing 2 to 3 ploughings and add 10 tons of FYM for one hectare land.
You can propagate lavender from cuttings and layering. Avoid growing them from seeds.
100 Kilograms Nitrogen, 40 Kilograms of Phosphorus and Potassium is required for one hectare of farm.
If the annual rainfall is above 450 mm annually then you will not need to worry much about irrigation.
Harvesting of lavender is practiced during summer season when crop becomes ready for harvesting.
