Climate Resilient Agriculture (CRA) is a method of sustainable agriculture in which available natural resources are used precisely to avoid wastage.
By seeing the effects of climate change on agriculture, a future-oriented farming system is required to solve the problem of the global food supply chain.
Climate Resilient Agriculture involves using drought-tolerant crops or cultivars and animal breeds to cultivate and raise them in regions with low rainfall.
Furrow-irrigated raised bed, micro-irrigation, rainwater harvesting structure, cover-crop, etc. practiced to increase the water use efficiency.
To improve soil health practices such as reduced tillage, crop rotations, cover crops, using organic fertilizers, etc. are adopted.
In Climate Resilient Agriculture, we reduce the use of agrochemicals, tillage, etc., and hence the cost of production decreases, which benefits farmers.
By practicing climate-resilient agriculture farmers can get quality produce in high quantity to get better returns from the market.
