Mango popularly known as the "King Of Fruits" is a popular fruit crop that farmers can cultivate & sell. If you follow best practices then from an acre mango farm around INR 70,000 can be earned.
You can cultivate mango in tropical to sub-tropical climates where temperature ranges from 24 to 30 degrees Celsius with annual rainfall of 890-1,015 mm.
Mango can be cultivated on wide range of soils such as well aerated & drained loamy soil with pH around 5.5 to 7.5.
You can plant approach and epicotyl grafts from July to December at plant to plant distance of 5m x 5 m in pits of 1 m x 1 m x 1 m filled with organic manure.
Till establishment of seedlings, keep irrigating. During summer season, irrigate once after every 7 days.
Apply 10 Kilograms of Farm Yard Manure, 200 grams of Nitrogen & Phosphorus & 300 grams of Potassium per tree & increase quantity gradually.
During flowering you can apply NAA at the rate 20 ppm to increase fuit setting. You should also apply micronutrients for better results.
You can harvest mango fruits from March to June. Upto 15 years you can get yield of 8 to 10 tonees per hectare.
