If you want quick returns & consistent income throughout the the year by exporting them to Europe, America, Japan, etc. then cultivate banana in your farm.
You can cultivate banana in tropical to sub-tropical climates with temperature ranging from 15 to 35 degrees Celsius & having 70 to 75% relative humidity.
Well drained, deep, rich loamy and salty clay loam soil with pH around 6 to 7.5 is ideal for banana farming. Avoid growing in waterlogged or poorly aerated soils.
You can either plant suckers or tissue cultured seedlings in your farm from May to June or during September to October in paired row system at 1.2 x 1.2 x 2.0 metres distance.
You will need to provide 10 to 20 Kilograms of Farm Yard Manure, 200 to 250 grams Nitrogen, 60 to 70 grams Phosphorus, and 300 grams Potassium per banana plant.
Banana plant requires good amount of water to grow. After every 4 to 5 days in summer and 7 to 8 days in winter you should irrigate your banana farm.
You will need to practice de-suckering, propping, mulching, pruning, earthing up, bunch covering & thinning, denavelling, etc. in a banana farm.
