Cats are lovable and adorable creatures, but they can also be a nuisance when they start using your garden as their personal litter box or destroy your plants. Follow these tips to save your plants.
Cats are sensitive to smell, they hate the smell of lavender, orange, lemon, citronella, peppermint, lemongrass, rosemary, etc. Hence, use spray based on these fragrances.
As cats are sensitive to smell, they are also sensitive to sound. You can hang bells or wind chimes in your garden to keep cats away from your plants.
Cats have a habit of visiting the same spot daily. Wash that spot with water to remove the scent of their body & urine so that they don’t recognize their favourite spot
Installing a fence around your garden can be an effective way to keep cats out. Make sure the fence is at least 6 feet tall and has no gaps.
Lay down mesh or chicken wire over the soil in your garden. This will make it difficult for cats to dig and destroy your garden.
If you have them as a pet, create a designated area for them. Place a litter box, scratching post, and toys in the designated area.
