Also known as friendship plant is a popular succulent houseplant which is native to native to the KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape provinces of South Africa, and Mozambique.
Warm and humid tropical to sub-tropical climate is good for growing jade plant. Avoid growing them in freezing climate.
Jade plant love well drained sandy soil that is not so rich in organic matter and is slightly acidic. You can also use succulent potting mix.
Brigh indirect to direct sunlight for at least 6 hours daily is essential for good growth of jade plant. Avoid keeping in low light.
Let the soil dry before watering, and avoid overwatering or waterlogging in the pot. Only water when top layer of soil becomes completely dry.
Once after every 60 to 90 days you can add a handful of neem cake fertilizer or leaf compost. They are not heavy feeders.
You can start propagating jade plant by taking stem cuttings and planting them in soil or water in spring season.
