Rosemary is a perennial evergreen aromatic herbal plant from the mint family. You can use rosemary leaves to flavour foods. Grow this plant by following these tips.
Rosemary can grow well in warm and humid climate. Avoid growing them in cold temperate climate. USDA zones 7 to 10 are suitable for rosemary.
Well drained loamy soil rich in organic matter with pH 6 to 7 is good. Prepare potting mix with 50% garden soil + 40% organic compost + 10% cocopeat.
Anytime you can propagate rosemary from stem cuttings. Plant them in pots and maintain adequate moisture.
Bright direct sunlight for at least 6 to 8 hours daily is good for growing rosemary plant. Avoid growing them in low light.
Avoid overwatering for caring rosemary plant. Let the soil dry for sometime before watering. Apply water whenever top layer of soil becomes completely dry.
They are light feeders, hence add handful of leaf compost + onion peel fertilizer + eggshells once after every 30 days.
Rosemary is rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds. They are known to boost immune system, improve memory, etc.
